Shabbat and Festivals
The cycle of festivals, including shabbat, mark the Jewish year. We have services and social events for most of them.

Services

We have services for the first and second days of Rosh Hashanah; services during the whole of Yom Kippur; the building of a sukkah and Sukkot services; Sh'mini Atzeret/ Simchat Torah; First Night Hannukah; Tu b'Shvat (sometimes with a seder); Purim (with costumes and sound-effects provided by all!); Pesach services, and a communal first night seder; Yom HaShoah service; Shavuot services; and a service on Tisha b'Av.

Additionally, we participate in events marking Holocaust Memorial Day, Yom Ha'atzmaut, etc. Details are on the calendar page.

Each week we read from a 'Sefer Torah' - a hand written scroll on parchment containing the five books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy)
